Full Moon
I have said it before, about my riding my bike in the
predawn darkness.Today it is white with snow. Only snow shoes or XC skis would work in gliding along. Yet this morning was a full moon, a very rare Christmas
morning one. The light showed me the way through the streets. Shadows from the
trees were cast across lawns and fields. The moonlight cast golden beams across
Lac du Cour and the Milwaukee River as I skied by. It was magical and showing me
a sense of God’s presence in His creation. The power of Isaiah 9:2-3 seemed to
speak saying, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those
living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. You have enlarged
the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice
at the harvest.”
Jesus is the great light coming into the world on Christmas
morning. He is the “light of the world.” This is the message, “God
is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship
with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we
walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:5-7).
This is the message of Christmas; there is no other truth.
May your day be full of His light.
